Venus Elixir 50mL
Venus Elixir 50mL
An elixir for the modern woman, nourishing & supporting 3 main energy centres: your adrenals, heart and spirit.
Grounding | Energising | Heart Opening | Love | Connects to Spirit & Divine
This is the formulation I feel like I’ve been waiting to make ever since I created this apothecary. It’s designed to support 3 vital energy centres within your body from the help of 3 incredibly nurturing herbs:
Tulsi - an adaptogen that is known as Holy Basil, or, Queen of Herbs, in Ayurveda - she helps you connect to the divine and your Higher Self/spirit whilst helping the body to cope with stress, and revive and uplift a flat or weary spirit.
Rose - heart opening and nourishing, supporting you through grief, pain, caring, mothering and in living a heart-centred way.
Ashwagandha - adrenal tonic, adaptogenic (helps the body cope better with stress), and grounding.
To me, it touches on so much of what the modern woman and mother needs - connection to ‘above’ (higher self, god, source, divinity), their own heart, and the Earth (grounding).
It is a wonderfully nervine, adaptogenic, heart opening and nervous system nourishing formulation.
Being an elixir, the herbs have been extracted with a combination of pure alcohol, water and raw local honey, giving the extract a subtly sweet hint, and making it all the more luxurious.
Indicated for:
The woman (or person) who feels:
Wired but tired,
Worn down by the pace of modern life,
Ungrounded, anxious or stressed,
‘Up in their head’ with overthinking,
Is experiencing/experienced grief, emotional pain or struggles,
Who is struggling with fatigue, brain fog, or,
Has any health issue that is triggered or flared by their stress.
Emotionally, its aim is to help you feel restored, loved, enlivened, energised, centred, calm, joyful, playful and connected.
Physically, Venus Elixir will also help to balance your blood sugar, enter into restorative rest, boost thyroid health and metabolism, increase focus and cognition, and reduce levels of stress hormones such as cortisol.
Formulation:
Homegrown chemical-free Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum) aerial parts
Organic red Rose (Rosa spp.) petals
Organic Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root
Dosage:
Apply 1 to 2 droppers onto the tongue or into a glass of water 1 to 3 times daily.
Alternative ideas:
Use desired amount in hot beverages such as cacao or mushroom tonics.
Take a dose before meditation, breath work, journalling or embodiment practice.
Herb Drug Interactions:
Pregnancy: avoid during first trimester.
Breastfeeding: consult a healthcare provider.
Anti-hypertensives: may have a (beneficial) additive effect (Rose). Monitor.
Diabetes: Ashwagandha & Tusli can lower blood sugar levels, monitor blood sugar levels. This interaction is normally beneficial if blood sugars are high or harder to control.
Hyperthyroidism: avoid use due to Ashwagandha stimulating thyroid function.
Hypothyroidism: may have an addictive effect if taking medication for low thyroid function. Usually a beneficial interaction, but monitor T4 results via blood tests over time.
Sedatives and CNS Depressants: Ashwagandha may enhance the sedative effects of medications such as benzodiazepines and barbiturates, leading to increased drowsiness and sedation. Reaction unlikely, the sedative effect of Ashwagandha is mild.
Anti-coagulants: Monitor in those taking blood thinners, Tulsi has a theoretical interaction. Interaction unlikely.
