I think there’s a few reason Reishi is so popular right now...
On the surface, Reishi is an incredible adaptogen that helps to revitalise and build up a tired, deficient, fatigued and/or weak system. It has been used in this way within Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2000 years (!). It is one of the most wonderful adaptogens we have available, taken to protect and rejuvenate the body from stress, and any illness or immune dysfunction that results.
On a deeper level however, keep in mind that the mushroom that we normally see growing and harvest is just the fruiting body of the mushroom, the part that pops up out of the soil. The part of the mushroom that is also medicinal is the mycelium, the vast network of tiny fibres that wind throughout a forest or eco-system, connecting the plants and trees together in a vast interconnected network. Mycelium are a huge reason trees communicate and talk to one another (as now robustly proven through science).
Think of this mycelium and the network as a metaphor for the nerves in your body, connecting and talking to all of you, and on the macro as the threads that connect every single living thing on the planet - humans, plants, animals, insects, microbes.
Reishi is a powerful medicine who interacts with our psyche, opens and expands our consciousness, creates peace within the mind, and stimulates our personal growth and evolution.
“Reishi is believed to lead you into deeper states of inner knowledge, wisdom. You are able to go deeper inside yourself. It is the premier herb for people that want to meditate or have a spiritual practice. The calm that it gives you is unlike any other calm I know.... Take Reishi every day and you will be a different human person, a permanent realignment with a deeper part of yourself.” - Matthew Becker
Reishi connects you into yourself, it grounds you back with the Earth in a beautiful and profound way.
I love having some Reishi in my matcha each morning, and enjoying the benefits of feeling grounded and calm that it brings me.
Triple Extraction:
Is this process Reishi undergoes 2 x water extractions (one cold, one with heat) and then an alcoholic extraction. This process ensures the tough cell wall of the mushroom, containing chitin, is broken down, and the medicinal compounds i.e. the polysaccharides and triterpenes are extracted optimally and efficiently.
Dosage:
Apply 1 to 2 droppers onto the tongue or into a glass of water 1 to 3 times daily.
Acute dose: Apply 1 to 2 droppers onto the tongue or into a glass of water every 2 hours.

Top 5 Health Indications:
Acute Immune System Support: Reishi enhances the immune system by modulating its response. The polysaccharides, especially beta-glucans, stimulate immune cells such as macrophages, natural killer cells, and T-lymphocytes. It has shown benefit against acute infections such as herpes simplex, hepatitis, influenza, candida and E. coli.
Immune-Modulation: Reishi is able to reduce and dampen down an excessive inflammatory response often present in chronic health issues, pain conditions and autoimmune diseases.
Liver Support: Optimally prepared Reishi will also taste somewhat bitter, due to the triterpenes that have been extracted. For this reason Reishi will also help to stimulate liver and digestive function, ensuring the proper production of bile, and hence breakdown and absorption of fats and fat soluble vitamins from the diet. Reishi also helps protect the liver from damage caused by toxins, viruses, and other harmful agents, due to its antioxidant effects below.
Anti-Inflammatory and Antioxidant Properties: Reishi exhibits strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities, which help in reducing inflammation and oxidative stress throughout the body. These properties are beneficial in managing chronic inflammatory conditions and preventing degenerative diseases.
Main Contraindications and Drug Interactions:
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: safe. Use the Reishi powder if you wish to avoid the alcohol.
Autoimmune Disorders: Start with a low dose (of which this product is) if you have an active/flaring/difficult to manage autoimmune or chronic inflammatory disorder. Reishi can be cautioned in these conditions as it also has evidence of ‘stimulating’ the immune system (in states of acute illness), but rather, its effect is more on regulating the immune system, and rebuilding its strength, vitality and function from deep within.
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs or surgery: Reishi has mild blood-thinning properties, a low level caution with anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications (e.g., warfarin, aspirin), monitor.
Organ transplant: if you take immunosuppressive drugs for this reason please consult a trained herbalist or naturopath before commencing.
Surgery: Due to its blood-thinning properties, Reishi should be discontinued at least two weeks prior to surgery to reduce the risk of excessive bleeding.
